Sex Isn’t About Fun. It’s About Procreation

No kids = no sex?

No kids = no sex?

Sex isn’t about fun. If you want to have fun, read a book, go to a movie. Sex is about the procreation of children.

Jerome Corsi’s not alone in that beliefRead the rest of this entry

Objectification: Male & Female Fantasies

Édouard Manet - La Nymphe Surprise

Édouard Manet – La Nymphe Surprise

Some guys complain that they want to be objectified, too!

Judging from research at the University of Montréal, men may want to be objectified more than women do.

The researchers asked men and women to rank 55 fantasies and describe their personal favorite. The average age of respondents was 30, and 85% were straight, 3.6% were gay/lesbian and the rest were none of the above.

Findings? Below are the percentage of women and men who have had each fantasy: Read the rest of this entry

Tossed Between “Prude,” “Sexy,” and “Slut”

One-piece black bathing suit.

One-piece black bathing suit.

By Cassie Kent

I changed my Facebook profile picture to one showing me atop a small abandoned fishing boat in the Dominican Republic.

I’m wearing a black one-piece swimsuit. My arms are braced behind my head as I coyly look over my shoulder with a small smile aimed at the camera.

The photo was taken as my friends and I posed in exaggerated ways, pretending to be on America’s Next Top Model. Read the rest of this entry

Donald Trump’s Sexist, Racist Appeal

Donald Trump

Donald Trump

More than 40% of Republicans have favored Donald Trump for President at some point.

Some despite his sexism and racism. They’re just fed up with establishment politicians who are so busy serving wealthy interests (thanks $ in politics!) that they often ignore their middle-class and working-class voters. I get it!

But others appear to be drawn to his bigotry.

Why is that? Read the rest of this entry

Guys Don’t Expect Women To Be Porn Stars

How to make love like a porn star

How to make love like a porn star

I asked my male students if they thought that guys expected women to act like porn stars.

Most didn’t think so.

Keep in mind that these were all guys who were willing to take a women’s studies class (where I surveyed them). So they may have more gender-equal attitudes than most. But here’s what they thought:

About 50% thought that in real life guys didn’t expect women to act like porn stars.

The other 50% thought that at least some men did. But 20% of them said that they didn’t personally feel that way.

So overall, 70% didn’t expect women to behave like porn stars.

As they described it: Read the rest of this entry

Donna Trump: You’re no “10” Brad Pitt!

"Donna" Trump, Photo from The Daily Sqib.

“Donna” Trump. Photo from The Daily Sqib.

I’ve been thinking about Donald Trump’s sexism.

What if Donald morphed into Donna? How would we perceive HER?

Donna opines on an over-30 Brad Pitt: “Sadly, he’s no longer a 10.” 😦

Would anyone take a look at Donna and think that that’s an odd thing to say since she’s clearly no “10” either? Read the rest of this entry

Porn Can Cause E.D.?

Porn can cause E.D.

Porn can cause E.D.

One day I mentioned in class that, strangely, porn can cause E.D.

A male student said he’d thought it was the opposite, that porn cured E.D.

Oddly, both could be true. Read the rest of this entry

A Valentine To My Students

ValentineMillennials, born 1981-1999, were the coddled and helicoptered generation, they say. And for that, the word “narcissist” has been slapped on them.

Yet they are anything but self-absorbed.

In fact, the Pew Research Center labeled them, “Confident. Connected. Open to Change.”

Turns out, the Millennial Generation is introspective, empathetic, complex and hopeful. Read the rest of this entry

Satisfying Long-Term Relationships

Black_and_White_love_romance_kiss1[1]Some couples have strong and satisfying sex lives, over many years.

How does that happen?

A large study on long-term relationships and sexual satisfaction will be published soon in the Journal of Sex Research.
